• Most people with HCV have no symptoms, but some develop chronic liver disease
• Acute HCV has no recommended treatment; chronic HCV treatment involves 8-12 weeks of antiviral pills and cures over 90% of people
• While HCV can infect anyone who is sexually active, injection drug users and people with HIV are particularly susceptible to infection
